The Balancing Process...

In simple terms, to mount a passenger car wheel correctly we at elite use an expanding collect from the rear with a flange plate from the front. The expanding collect perfectly superimposes the cylindrical hub of the car and removes all STATIC IMBALANCE whilst the flange plate plate imitates the wheel nuts. However not only does the flange plate hold the wheel onto the balancer it also drives the back of the rim onto the machined surface of the back plate of the wheel balancer to remove all DYNAMIC IMBALANCE. In most instances, where the standard cone has been used, if the "balanced" wheel was to be remounted onto the balancer prior to being fitted to the vehicle, the zero reading will not be reproduced, thus proving the wheel had not been balanced accurately in the first place.
